[簡介] Luke Vibert

Luke Vibert 本名是 Luke Francis Vibert,他的化名有 Wagon Christ, Plug, Butler Keiv, Ace of Clubs, Amen Andrews, Kerrier District.

1973 年出生,他的第一張作品以 Wagon Christ 的化名於 1994 年發行,叫做 gas fish.至今他在以下音樂廠牌發行過作品 : Rephlex , Ninja Tune , Virgin/Astralwerks , Law & Auder , Rising High , Blue Planet/Blue Angel , Nothing (Trent Reznor aka Nine Inch Nails 的廠牌) , Cooking Vinyl , Planet Mu (老闆是 U-Ziq) , Electro Bunker Cologne , Mo' Wax (老闆是 James Lavelle,也是 trip-hop / 實驗嘻哈音樂的指標性廠牌) ,還有其它廠牌的合輯裡也有 Luke 的蹤跡.

與 Aphex Twin 同樣來自英國的 Cornwall,他們 2 人是好朋友,還有 Squarepusher, U-Ziq,他們都會 remix (混音) 彼此的作品,也會一起巡迴表演.

除了這些人外, Luke Vibert 也與以下的音樂人/團體的名字連在一起 : BJ Cole , Cylob , Kid 606 , Sneaker Pimps , The Artful Dodger , Nine Inch Nails , Meat Beat Manifesto .

所以從這些資料來看, Luke Vibert 的音樂較偏向於所謂的 IDM (Intelligent Dance Music) ,或是實驗性質電音 beats.

最近買到 Luke Vibert - '95 - '99 [Planet Mu/ZIQ016] 這張黑膠唱片, discogs 寫說這張 EP 只發行 3000 張,而且只以黑膠的型式發行.

EP 裡除了 Analord 比較偏向 dark 氣氛外,其餘 3 首歌皆很明亮, Pricktat 這首歌以爵士貝斯做基底勾勒出愉悅的 IDM, Flyover 是我 2004 年 6 月 13 日 在台中播放的歌曲 之一.
