一旦獲選進入搖滾名人堂,他們的作品將會在這棟大樓裡得以陳列,包括一部電腦化的自動唱片點唱機,清楚記錄著每位名人堂成員的每首歌曲,蝕刻玻璃製品的簽名,其演藝生涯與音樂將製成一部電影,透過三個大螢幕描述播放,搖滾名人堂也會針對該年受勳者製作人工藝品,並加以陳列.

1983 年,一群音樂工業的佼佼者們聚在一起,成立了搖滾名人堂委員會.其目的是要表揚過去曾對搖滾音樂歷史在重要衝擊時期有卓越貢獻,或對搖滾樂有發展,保存功勞者,經委員會評審或推薦之後,邀請這些名人進入名人堂,表達敬意.

評選資格規定: 符合資格的藝人,音樂需在搖滾樂發展史之前,但影響後來搖滾樂的先驅,對其造成衝擊.評選委員依照 Non-Performers 與 Early Influences 名冊產生提名.
